The Chickasaw Nation Fish and Wildlife Services special draw hunt gives Chickasaw citizen hunters the opportunity to hunt on trust land packed with game in Kullihoma, Fittstown and Bromide, Oklahoma, at no cost.

Director of Chickasaw Nation Fish and Wildlife Services Cody Dixon said hunters interested in applying may so by visiting Chickasaw.net/Hunting and filling out an application form.

“A special draw hunt is a great opportunity for citizens because it doesn’t count against their yearly bag limit,” Dixon said. “It's the perfect occasion to put extra venison into the freezer to off-set those high grocery bills.”

The number of citizens selected depends on how many apply and how many sections of hunting land are available.

Bowhunters are not included in the draw because they are relatively few in number. “We may have five or six bowhunters show up to hunt and there’s always going to be an opportunity for an open area, so we let them come, first come, first serve,” he said.

Dixon said hunting sections average 80 to more than 300 acres each, making them large enough to provide privacy and ample amounts of game.

“People would pay a very large amount of money to have an opportunity to hunt here and we’re able to do it for citizens at no charge. We have world class hunting with a very diverse number of species on property. Deer, turkey, wild hogs, coyotes, squirrels and ducks are normally the main attraction for hunters. We have a game rich property and we manage it extremely well,” he said.

Dixon said a new Chickasaw Nation Fish and Wildlife Service Office located on the Kullihoma property is scheduled to open in the fall of 2024.

“It will be a brand-new facility located on 1100 acres featuring a hunting lodge theme with a citizen’s lounge and training rooms onsite.”

While in the lounge hunters can relax on a couch, watch TV, drink coffee and visit with Rangers about hunting.

Chickasaw citizens who wish to participate in the Chickasaw Nation Draw must have a valid Chickasaw hunting and fishing license and apply by Sept. 13, 2024.

The 2024 fall deer season consists of a youth hunt (ages 7 to 17) for those hunting with rifles or muzzleloaders. Hunters are limited to one deer, with either sex harvested per special draw tag. These can be taken during rifle, youth and muzzleloader season. These bonus deer do not count toward the combined season limit.

To be included in this year’s special draw hunt, complete a Licensee Permit Request online at Chickasaw.net/Hunting.
