The Chickasaw Nation is accepting applications for the 2023 Hushtola Art Market through Oct. 20.
Hushtola Art Market, a premier offering of original First American artwork presented during the Christmas holiday shopping season, is a new venue sponsored by the Chickasaw Nation. Its debut will be Dec. 9-10 at WinStar World Casino and Resort near Thackerville, Oklahoma.
Artists from federally recognized First American tribes are encouraged to enter the competition. Basketry, beadwork/quillwork, diverse, drawing, graphic arts, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, textiles and weaponry, among others, are available categories for entry. A total of 21 categories are available for artists to enter.
Cash prizes are available in all categories, including Best of Division and Best of Show, selected by judges. Artists may enter two works of art, but only one piece of art per category for judging.
